1. What is the main reason behind the new officespace.com?
| |
Our underlying objective is to increase the velocity of the real estate transaction |
2. What does it mean to "increase the velocity" of the real estate transaction?
| |
By providing better access to high quality information, we expect our tenant users to become better educated prior to starting their actual search for space |
| | By having a basic understanding of how the process works, we expect that tenants will be able to make decisions faster |
| | By working with knowledgeable tenants, agents will be able to spend less time on the basics and added time on the more critical aspects of the relocation process, such as the negotiation of lease terms |
3. How long have has the new site been under development?
| |
For about 5 months, since the middle of January 2005 |
| | The site is the result of many years of research where we have asked what we can do better, and how we can make it easier to use |
4. What impact do we expect the new site to have?
| |
We are changing the way Corporate America finds real estate in a way that benefits brokers and tenants alike |
| | We anticipate doubling of our web traffic within the first 90 days of launch |
| | We expect the new site to provide tremendous benefits to all participants in the commercial real estate process |
5. What are the most significant changes regarding the new site?
| |
New corporate identity (logo and tag line) |
| | New user interface providing for more intuitive navigation |
| | New mapping technology |
| | New and improved search capabilities |
| | New content in the form of OS Tools |
6. Can you describe the new user interface in more detail?
| |
The number of links on our home page has been reduced by more than half, from over 40 to less than 20 |
| | The site invites you in according to your profile and provides for specific links that you will find to be useful |
| | Our new Quick Search feature is located on every page of our web site |
7. Can you describe the mapping changes in more detail?
| |
With the click of a button, you will instantly be able to map the results of any search for space |
| | The map will automatically zoom in to the level of detail that shows all of the locations on the screen |
| | You will be able to mouse-over an icon to get more information about that location |
| | Clicking the icon will take you directly to more detail about that property |
| | Maps will also be provided in reports that our members can print directly from the site |
8. Can you describe the searching changes in more detail?
| |
First and foremost, properties are much easier to find |
| | A new Quick Search feature will be located on every page, allowing you to find matching properties in a matter of seconds |
| | Search results will be available in map format, list format or both |
| | Our new Advance Search feature is the most powerful commercial real estate search technology available today |
| | Our find property feature has been upgraded to also search our database for real estate companies and agents |
9. Can you describe the OS Tools in more detail?
| |
OS Tools represents the area where we have added the most new content |
| | A new section on Frequently Asked Questions about commercial real estate leasing has been added |
| | A 20+ page Small Company Moving Guide has been added. The guide is provided in response to the resource gap that occurs from when a tenant signs a lease and when the move into the new space occurs. The guide will be linked in with task management site, allowing our users to start with a set of pre-populated set of tasks, assign responsibilities and track progress. |
| | A new section offering move related coupons remains under development with a target launch date of August 1st |
10. What distinguishes OfficeSpace.com from other real estate web sites?
| |
We are the only web site that has equal focus on all participants in a commercial real estate transaction: Tenants, CRE Professionals and Vendors |
11. How will these changes affect OfficeSpace.com’s competitive position?
| |
We expect that they will solidify and extend our market leading position |
| |
We expect that our OS Tools section will broaden our offerings to the point of gaining new users from outside our core market areas |
12. How will the new site benefit the commercial real estate community?
| |
Agents and landlords will benefit from faster lease transactions |
| | When working with OfficeSpace.com’s tenant users, agents will be able to spend less time on the basics and added time on the more critical aspects of the relocation process |
| | Agents will have more tools at their disposal when servicing their client needs |
| | Our products are competitively priced and agents should see their cost for information continue to decrease |
13. How will the new site benefit vendors?
| |
Vendors can subscribe to daily space activity reports which point them in the direction of potential new business |
| |
Our new section on move coupons will allow vendors to reach businesses on the move at a fraction of the cost compared to traditional direct mail campaigns |
14. How will the new site benefit tenants?
| |
Tenants will be able to gain a basic understanding of the market before engaging the services of a real estate professional |
| | By having a base knowledge of how the commercial leasing market works, tenants will be better able to utilize the services of their real estate agent |
| | Often times, the person assigned the task of moving the company has as their only prior experience a household move. Our new OS Tools section and Move Guide will simplify the process and ensure that the move goes as smooth as possible. |
15. Was there a cost to use the old site?
| |

18. Does OfficeSpace.com have any plans for a national expansion?
| |

| |
We will investigate expansion opportunities as they present themselves and we will inform you as soon as we have any announcements to make |
19. Are there more changes forthcoming?
| |
Our entire 10 year history is an evolution based on client and user demands |
| |
OfficeSpace.com’s ability to adapt to changing market conditions is fundamental to our long term success |
